No Enemies (revised)

No Enemies

By Charles Mackay

(English Chartist poet, 1814–1889)

YOU have no enemies, you say?
  Alas! my friend, the boast is poor;
He who has mingled in the fray
Of duty, that the brave endure,
Must have made foes! If you have none,        5
Small is the work that you have done.
You’ve hit no traitor on the hip,
You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip,
You’ve never turned the wrong to right,
You’ve been a coward in the fight.        10

Why

Why would someone do this to her?  I just can't understand it nor do I want to.

Perspective

"Reading the newspaper one morning, I saw this picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating."

Something To Ponder

So I have not fully researched this but have been poking my nose around a little in it.  Were the Spartans black?  Some people believe so.
I recently went see the new sequel to 300 and as I was watching it I couldn't help but wonder.  Most movies here in America change history by showing white characters on the big screen, why would this movie be any different?
I question everything now!
Also something internally tells me there were many women Spartan warrioresses however, I have found very little to support my intuition.  Women are quite frequently left out of history as well!

Here are a few things to get the juices flowing :)
